  • General Description of the Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus

The Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus is a 24 track digital audio recorder, editor, sequencer and mixer allowing users to create professional quality audio productions. Each of the 24 tracks are kept independent so that various editing operations can be performed on one track without affecting any of the other tracks. The Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus playsback and records audio at CD quality (44.1 KHz, 16 Bit, Stereo). During playback, all of the tracks play mixed together as one sound. When recording new tracks all existing tracks playback simultaneously with the recorded audio so that you can record in perfect time with the existing audio. Not only does the Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus have great multitrack recording features but it also includes the ability to create, import and utilize loops. Loops are explained in full in Section 2: General Audio Recording Terms - Audio Loop.

The Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus has three different main interfaces: the Track View Interface, the Audio Editor Interface and the Loop Bank Interface. The Track View Interface (screenshot) can be thought of as the main control panel for the audio project. Audio for each track can be viewed in this interface and up to eight tracks can be viewed at one time. The Audio Editor Interface (screenshot) can be used to perform very precise editing on any audio contained within a project. The Loop Bank Interface (screenshot) holds all loops associated with a project. Up to 32 different loops can be loaded into the Loop Bank. After loading or creating a loop, it can easily be placed anywhere within the audio project's Track View Interface.

History of the Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus

We happen to be audio enthusiasts and amateur musicians and recording artists and always felt as though there was a lack of an easy-to-use, straightforward and intuitive multitrack recorder available on the software market. We had spent plenty of time using some of the "best" products on the market and often found them to be more difficult than necessary. Even with degrees in computer science and math and much experience in computer based audio recording we were often perplexed with features that some packages offered which only seemed to hinder and complicate the recording and editing process. This gave way to the original creation of the Acoustic Labs Mixer in 2001 which was later more appropriately renamed to the Acoustic Labs Multitrack Recorder.

Since it's original release, we've received countless emails from satisfied users who are happy that an audio software company has finally made a straightforward multitrack recorder, editor and mixer. Through the years we've always encouraged our customers to provide any feedback of additional features they wish to see. The Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus is the response to our customer's requests. With new features such as realtime audio effects, increased audio tracks, drag-and-drop technology, loop based audio and many, many other enhancements the Acoustic Labs Multitrack Plus has given our customers just what they've requested.
